Goodwood Revival 2026 race results

Goodwood Revival: Two World Champions, a Cobra-Versus-E-Type War, and Tickets You Cannot Buy.

Three days in tweed at the Goodwood Motor Circuit, September 18 to 20, under the theme La Dolce Vita, with tributes to Jack Brabham and Maserati. Jenson Button ran fourth in the St Mary's Trophy and retired his ex-Fangio Jaguar C-Type; Jacques Villeneuve raced too, and Hélio Castroneves made his historic debut. The RAC TT Celebration, forty-five minutes and two drivers a car, went to Halusa and André Lotterer in a Jaguar E-type Lightweight low-drag coupe, with Cobras from Ingram, Dumas and Shedden in pursuit. Romain Dumas took the St Mary's Trophy in a Ford Galaxie 500. Tickets for 2027 went on sale September 21, exclusively to this year's holders and GRRC Members. The velvet rope is a chequered flag.

Hublot Classic Fusion Balloon Dog by Jeff Koons

Hublot Put Jeff Koons on Your Wrist: a Balloon Dog at $25,100, or the Whole Zoo for $488,000.

The most photographed dog in contemporary art has been shrunk to 42 millimetres. Hublot's Classic Fusion Balloon Dog by Jeff Koons comes in mirror-polished steel, red or blue anodized aluminum, 200 pieces per colour, priced between $21,500 and $25,100 depending on the case. The tell is a flexible rubber balloon tail poking out of the case at 10:30, an inflated dial with three-dimensional luminous markers, and a balloon-shaped rotor spinning behind the sapphire. For the man who finds that restrained, there is the MP-14 Origin: a 594-component central tourbillon under a hand-coated blue sapphire dome, 202 baguette diamonds, 60 hours of reserve, 30 pieces, $488,000. Art is what you can get away with. Koons has been getting away with it since 1994.

The Life~

Hôtel de Berri, Paris

Dinner in Schiaparelli's House: Le Schiap Reopens in Paris With a Michelin Chef and a Lobster Dress.

Elsa Schiaparelli lived at 22 rue de Berri from 1937 until nearly the end, pouring drinks for Dalí, Cocteau and Man Ray. It is now the Hôtel de Berri, 75 keys and 35 suites off the Champs-Élysées, with a 3,000-square-metre garden that Paris has no business having. In September the Dokhan family relaunched Le Schiap under Stéphane Pitré, who held a Michelin star at LOUIS from 2019 to 2024. The menu winks: a Lobster Dress of lobster ravioli for the 1937 Dalí collaboration, a rhubarb and rose-water dessert shaped like the Schiaparelli bag, beneath a fresco of Woody Allen directing a film about her, Chanel and Dalí in the cast. Open Monday to Friday only, lunch from EUR 28 for one course. The best tables in Paris are the ones that used to be someone's dining room.

The Look~

McQueen Spring/Summer 2027, London Fashion Week

McQueen Sends Savile Row to the Rave: Three Huntsman Suits Cut for Men Who Stay Out.

Seán McGirr closed London Fashion Week with a McQueen Spring 2027 collection that put religious iconography in the same room as an underground rave: smoky tulle with acid florals over reflective glass organza, lacquered satin and leather with harness detailing, precious-metal body pieces by Shaun Leane. The part that matters to you is quieter. Three men's made-to-measure silhouettes were built with Huntsman, the Savile Row house founded in 1849, in British heritage wools, with McGirr's sculptural angel-wing cut fighting the Row's rigid shoulders and winning. The house calls it a celebration of London's otherworldly allure. We call it the first suit in years worth being seen leaving a club in at 4 a.m. Order it in the dark wool. Skip the harness.

The Bank~

SoftBank

SoftBank Sold $11 Billion of Junk Bonds to Pay for Its OpenAI Habit.

Masayoshi Son has put $64.6 billion into OpenAI for roughly thirteen percent of the company, and on September 24 he passed the hat. SoftBank Group priced about $11 billion of high-yield bonds: $10 billion in dollar notes at three and a half, five and a half and seven and a half years, plus a billion euros, rated BB+ by Fitch, run by Citigroup and JPMorgan with Goldman, Morgan Stanley and Deutsche alongside. Settlement was September 29; the OpenAI cheque cleared October 1. It is the largest non-financial corporate bond deal Asia has ever seen, beating 7-Eleven's $10.93 billion from 2021, and it landed with SoftBank's stock down 34 percent from its June peak and $15 billion of bonds already sold this year. Conviction is expensive. Son has never once priced it.

What We’re Smoking & Drinking (and where we are escaping)

💨 What We’re Smoking: Nub México

Oliva's stubby line goes south of the border: a Mexican wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and all-Nicaraguan filler, rolled at Tabacalera Oliva in Nicaragua, medium in body with a little spice on the edges. Two sizes, both short and fat the way Nub intends: a 4 by 60 at $10.83 and a 4 by 64 torpedo at $11.16, the torpedo an American exclusive. Wooden slide-lid boxes of 24 with Aztec-inspired bands, unveiled at InterTabac in Dortmund, landing stateside in early October. Forty minutes of smoke for the price of a bad cocktail. Order the torpedo. Let the bartender watch.

🍸 What We’re Drinking: The Flannel Shirt

Jeffrey Morgenthaler built this at Clyde Common in Portland, and it has outlived most of the bars that copied it. One and three-quarter ounces of Scotch, an ounce and a half of fresh apple cider, half an ounce of Averna, a quarter ounce of lemon, a teaspoon of demerara syrup, half a teaspoon of allspice dram, two dashes of Angostura. Shake hard, strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass, orange peel. Smoke, orchard, bitter herbs and a warm holiday morning served cold. It is the drink for the first evening you close the windows. Make two. Someone always asks.

✈️ Where We’re Escaping: La Réserve Firenze, Florence

A fifteenth-century palazzo a few steps from the Ponte Vecchio, opening mid-October with exactly six private apartments, one to three bedrooms each, original ceiling frescoes intact and Gilles & Boissier on the interiors. Butler, concierge, private chefs on call; the three-bedroom has a rooftop terrace over the Arno for the hour when the river turns gold. From $1,510 a night. Co-owner Grégory Marciano says the point was to share Florence the way the family lives it, as a home. October is when the tour buses leave and the truffles arrive. Book the top floor. Tell no one.
